Derby is well-connected by rail, making it an accessible destination. The nearest major airport is East Midlands Airport (EMA), approximately a 30-40 minute taxi or ride-share journey to the city centre. From Derby train station, the venue is a short taxi or ride-share ride away. If driving, check for specific parking availability at the Derby venue closer to the event date.

When you arrive in Derby for HYROX East Midlands 2026, focus your accommodation search on areas close to the venue for convenience. The city centre provides easy access to amenities and is a common base for visitors. If you prefer a slightly quieter atmosphere while remaining close, consider the Cathedral Quarter or the areas immediately surrounding the city centre. For dining, Derby offers a diverse culinary scene. For hearty pub fare and a relaxed atmosphere, explore the traditional pubs in the city centre. A DEKA race demands more than just running or lifting. Our training plans balance three types of work so you arrive race-ready for every lap and every station.

Pure Running

Running makes up more than 50% of a DEKA race. We build your aerobic base and pacing strategy so you can hold a strong pace across all 10 km of running.

Functional Station Training

Targeted strength and conditioning for the 10 DEKA stations. SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.

Compromised Running

The true separator in DEKA. We program running intervals on fatigued legs to simulate the demands of running immediately after completing a station.
