How to Get There +

The primary international gateway to Paris is Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), located approximately 25 km northeast of the city center. From CDG, you can reach the Grand Palais area via:

  • RER B Train: Take the RER B line towards Paris, then transfer to the Métro at a central station (e.g., Châtelet-Les Halles) for lines that serve the Champs-Élysées area (e.g., Line 1 to Franklin D. Roosevelt or Champs-Élysées - Clemenceau stations).
  • RoissyBus: Direct bus service to Opéra Garnier, from where you can take a short Métro ride or a taxi.
  • Taxi/Ride-sharing: Approximately 45-70 minutes, depending on traffic.

Another major airport is Paris Orly Airport (ORY), located south of Paris. From ORY:

  • Orlyval + RER B: Take the Orlyval shuttle to Antony station, then connect to the RER B towards Paris, followed by a Métro transfer.
  • OrlyBus: Direct bus service to Denfert-Rochereau, from where you can connect to the Métro.
  • Taxi/Ride-sharing: Approximately 30-60 minutes, depending on traffic.

Paris's main train station is Gare du Nord, serving international and domestic routes. From Gare du Nord, you can easily access the Métro system to reach the Grand Palais area.

City Guide: Paris Grand Palais +

Expected weather in April: 8-15°C (46-59°F), 65-75% humidity

Paris, the City of Lights, offers an unparalleled experience for HYROX athletes looking to combine their competitive drive with an unforgettable travel adventure. The Grand Palais, your race venue, is situated in a prime location within the 8th arrondissement, making it incredibly accessible. For accommodation, consider staying in areas like the 8th, 9th, or 16th arrondissements, offering a range of hotels from luxurious to boutique, many within walking distance or a short Métro ride to the venue.

When it comes to fueling your performance and celebrating your victories, Paris is a culinary paradise. Beyond the classic bistros and brasseries, explore areas like Le Marais for trendy eateries and diverse cuisines. Don't miss the opportunity to indulge in French pastries from a local boulangerie, a perfect pre-race or post-race treat. For a more casual bite, look for 'boulangeries' offering sandwiches and quiches, or 'crêperies' for savory galettes and sweet crêpes.

Navigating Paris is a breeze thanks to its extensive public transport system. The Métro is efficient and covers the entire city, with stations conveniently located near most attractions and accommodation areas. Consider purchasing a Navigo Découverte pass if you plan on extensive travel throughout the week. The currency is the Euro (€), and while English is spoken in many tourist areas, learning a few basic French phrases is always appreciated. Tipping is usually included in the bill ('service compris'), but leaving a small additional tip for excellent service is customary. Paris is generally a safe city, but always be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded tourist spots.

Flexible Training Schedule

What your training plan covers

A HYROX race demands more than just running or lifting. Our training plans balance three types of work so you arrive race-ready for every lap and every station.

Pure Running

Running makes up more than 50% of a HYROX race. We build your aerobic base and pacing strategy so you can hold a strong pace across all 8 km of running.

Functional Station Training

Targeted strength and conditioning for the 8 HYROX stations. Sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls, and SkiErg.

Compromised Running

The true separator in HYROX. We program running intervals on fatigued legs to simulate the demands of running immediately after completing a station.

"I was skeptical about another fitness app, but TrainRox is different. It's built specifically for HYROX, not adapted from generic CrossFit templates."
