The racing calendar is heating up with a massive weekend in Lyon behind us and some major structural shifts on the horizon. We are diving into the new Elite Series format and looking ahead to a packed schedule of upcoming events. |
News & UpdatesHYROX is overhauling elite racing for the 2026/27 season, marking one of the biggest structural shifts since the Elite 15 was created. The Major branding is gone, and the series is rebranding as the HYROX Elite Series. Qualification now sees the top 3 finishers at each of the five Elite Series races earning direct entry to the World Championships, replacing the old Majors and Regionals route. A new Challenger Division also joins the program, where winning the Challenger race promotes an athlete straight into the next Elite 15 field, creating a rolling qualification circuit. Full breakdown via Hybrid Fitness Media. The first stop of the new era is an Elite 15 cruise in the Mediterranean. From October 21 to 25, 2026, the Elite 15 will race aboard the Mein Schiff 4 cruise ship, with singles racing while docked in Marseille and doubles racing while docked in Barcelona. Both will run in a time-trial format on the ship's top deck, followed by a highlight show. The event is currently limited to Elite 15 divisions only, setting up a made-for-broadcast season opener before the series moves on to London in December. |
