How to Get There +
Getting to Brisbane
Nearest Airport: Brisbane Airport (BNE) is the primary international and domestic gateway. It's located approximately 23 kilometers (14 miles) east of the city center, with a travel time of about 25-30 minutes by car or taxi.
Public Transport from Airport: The Airtrain is the most convenient way to travel from Brisbane Airport to the city. It runs regularly from both domestic and international terminals and connects to the main train network, allowing you to reach various parts of the city.
Main Train Station: Roma Street Station is Brisbane's main railway hub, offering connections throughout Queensland and interstate. Central Station is another major station located in the heart of the CBD.
Getting to the Venue: Depending on the exact Brisbane venue, you can utilize Brisbane's extensive bus network or the South East Queensland train lines. Using a journey planner app like Translink will be invaluable for navigating public transport from your accommodation to the event site. Consider ride-sharing services or taxis for direct transport if convenience is prioritized.
City Guide: Brisbane +
Expected weather in April: 16-26°C (61-79°F), 60-80% humidity
Welcome to Brisbane, the Sunshine State's capital and your destination for the HYROX APAC Championships! This dynamic city, nestled on the Brisbane River, offers a relaxed, outdoor lifestyle with a thriving urban heart. Known for its subtropical climate, stunning natural beauty, and friendly locals, Brisbane is the perfect backdrop for an international fitness event.
For accommodation, consider areas like the CBD (Central Business District) for easy access to public transport and proximity to many attractions. South Bank is another excellent choice, offering a vibrant precinct with parklands, restaurants, and cultural institutions, all within walking distance of potential event venues. The Fortitude Valley area is popular for its lively nightlife and diverse dining scene. Getting around is straightforward; Brisbane boasts an efficient public transport system, including buses, trains, and the CityHopper ferry, which offers free travel along the river. Many central areas are also highly walkable.
When it comes to dining, Brisbane's culinary landscape is diverse, from innovative fine dining to casual cafes and bustling food markets like the Jan Powers Farmers Markets. Sample fresh Queensland produce, enjoy world-class seafood, or explore the multicultural culinary offerings in areas like Fortitude Valley. For athletes, staying hydrated and fueling wisely is key. Remember that Australia uses the Australian Dollar (AUD) as its currency, and English is the official language. Tipping is not mandatory but is appreciated for excellent service. Brisbane is generally a safe city, but it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially at night. Enjoy exploring all that this beautiful city has to offer beyond the race!

What your training plan covers
A HYROX race demands more than just running or lifting. Our training plans balance three types of work so you arrive race-ready for every lap and every station.
Pure Running
Running makes up more than 50% of a HYROX race. We build your aerobic base and pacing strategy so you can hold a strong pace across all 8 km of running.
Functional Station Training
Targeted strength and conditioning for the 8 HYROX stations. Sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, wall balls, and SkiErg.
Compromised Running
The true separator in HYROX. We program running intervals on fatigued legs to simulate the demands of running immediately after completing a station.
"I was skeptical about another fitness app, but TrainRox is different. It's built specifically for HYROX, not adapted from generic CrossFit templates."
