The 2026/27 HYROX season is officially underway, and we have the full breakdown of the latest rulebook changes and the qualification path for the Hong Kong World Championships. Beyond the world of HYROX, we are tracking the emergence of new hybrid racing formats as the sport continues to diversify. |
News & UpdatesHYROX has a new rulebook for the 2026/27 season. Every workout station must now be completed in full across all eight stations, and failing to finish a station is a disqualification. Putting the sandbag down is now a 15-second penalty rather than a DQ, and on the Burpee Broad Jump, a stagger of up to 5cm is now allowed. Doubles teams face a tighter leash with the maximum gap between partners cut to 10 seconds. Additionally, you can no longer linger in the start tunnel, and on the Sled Push, you must face the direction of travel at all times. Read the full rulebook. HYROX has confirmed how age group athletes qualify for Hong Kong 2027. Every Pro age group and Mixed Doubles division will offer at least one World Championship spot, with athletes aged 60 and over qualifying through the Open divisions. Offers roll down if not accepted within 48 hours, and letting three offers expire will result in a suspension of further offers for the remainder of the season. Events up to 16 May 2027 count toward Hong Kong qualification. See the full details. A new hybrid format, XENOM, launched this weekend in Frisco, Texas. Billed as the Decathlon of Fitness, XENOM features a fixed lineup of 10 standardized events spanning strength, endurance, gymnastics, and conditioning. The debut saw significant prize money, with elite winners Jack Farlow and Abigail Domit taking home $25,000 each. Founder Keith Barlow plans for over 60 competitions worldwide in Season 001.
